On 6th of October 2011 an article about the important innovations of DMCE regarding mobile chips has been published in Rundschau. It emphasizes the strong cooperation with Johannes Kepler University of Linz which allocates highly qualified graduates and therefore  sophisticated knowledge of RF transceivers.

Company Outing 2011

Mountains, sunshine and action are those three words best describing this year´s company outing. Our first venue was at Ramsau where from the top of Dachstein we enjoyed a magnificent view onto the surrounding moutain ranges.

Spin Off DMCE

Intel, the US chipmaker, has taken over the wireless chip business of Infineon Technologies by February 1st 2011. Due to this deal the wireless part of DICE has been carved out and is now operating as Danube Mobile Communications Engineering GmbH & Co KG (DMCE). The DMCE is majority owned by Intel Mobile Communication Austria GmbH.

Company Christmas Celebration

About 180 employees have joined the Company Christmas Celebration at the Bildungszentrum St. Magdalena. The evening passed by very fast because of the varied programe. We were welcomed by a “Punsch” and then we could enjoy a delicious dinner and listen to amusing Christmas stories. Afterwards people chatted while listening to live music. Summing up, it was an enjoyable event.

Lebendiges Linz, Dezember 2010: Ohne ihre Arbeit würde weitgehend Funkstille herrschen. Die WissenschafterInnen der Firma DICE entwickeln winzig kleine Elektronikbausteine mit großer Wirkung.

SMARTi LU

HSPA is a thing of the past. LTE sets new standards: With up to 150Mbps LTE offers about 10 times the maximum data rate of HSPA. Supporting various bandwidths LTE allows for flexible deployment in different spectral bands covering a range of different requirements. HD video streaming and numerous other data intensive mobile services will thus become common place.

Upper Austrian Innovation Award 2010

On the 22th of September 2010 DICE & Co KG received the Upper Austrian federal state award 2010 in the category large companies. DICE competed with its world first highly integrated 77GHz radar transceiver family RASIC – “Radar System IC for Automotive Application”.

Runner´s club

Since Sept. 2008 interested colleagues have the opportunity to participate in a professionally coached weekly run training scheduled during an extended lunch break. The training is suited both for beginners and experienced runners. Enjoying the training and running in a group are the priority.

Think Tank DICE

What is the true value of a company? Its value on the stock market? Its turnover? Or the IP it owns, its know how?
DICE is not listed at the stock exchange and its turnover says little about those high-technology developments in the areas of mobile communications and radar which are years ahead of current commercially available solutions.

It can be found in the smartphones of prominent cell phone manufacturers, it is a world first to serve four EDGE bands as well as nine UMTS bands, it achieves data rates of up to 14.4 Mbps and integrates 6 million transistors inside a 6x6mm small package: We are talking about the Infineon RF Transceiver Chip SMARTi UE.
